Very awesome. More pics time. These are from the sword school seminar last weekend. I don't think you all know about ss so I'll give you a brief explanation. Four years ago, my dad and I started going to the local medieval faire that runs six weekends in the summer. We met master Steve Turk, and his assistant Master Wolfe. They have a school down south of Pittsburgh. Well, we went everyday and got to know them pretty well. The next year we decided that we would do seminars at Hank and Bunnies(two other ss regulars) house. They have a big place and we hang out the whole day then crash there for the night. Thy also bring some of their student: Jenna, Cy, Miles, and occasionlly Mike....oh, and Jones when he is on leave(He's in the airforce) This one was very cool. We went over the motion drill that we learned at faire this year. This time the steps were covered more indepth and were more fun. Also worked on weapon strips and joint lock! Always fun stuff to cover The weather was beautiful! The crowd was a bit small though. Which did mean a bit more one-on-one teaching though. The company was even better. .  Wolfie and I doing the nine count when we were supposed to be chaining the four and six.....   The entire class....that was it...we usually have twenty some people for the seminars....GAH  Jenna working with John....new guy that cmae towards the end of faire and we invited him and his dad, Jack..  One advantage to the smaller class size, is that we got to do a little more playing with the live steel! Not as many people to keep track of, so it is easy enough to let people work with it a bit.  Miles working with Jack.  Bob and Hank doing the six..  Wolfie and I playing with the steal chaining the six anfd three....Wolfie showed me a new version too...  Prepaing to set... |
